It has been another busy week in year 6!
Maths and English
In English, we have been writing diary entries about Auggie from our class story. We were impressed with the subordinating conjunctions the children were using. In maths, we were learning about place value and spent a couple of days learning about negative numbers. Why not ask your child to play this game to show you what they've learnt?
This week, children have been given maths homework. Homework is given out on Fridays and collected in on the following Wednesday. Children can come to homework club in the classroom on Monday lunchtime if they are struggling and would like to complete the work at school.
If children do not complete their homework 3 times in a half term, they will be given a lunchtime detention as we are working hard to prepare them to high school.
What we've been up to in topic
Thus week our topic has been geography and we have been learning about coasts. In our second lesson we learnt about how coastal features such as stacks, stumps, arches and caves are formed. Check out our dough models!
We have sent an email about this but we have been in touch with Kingswood and rearranged the trip for the week of Monday 8th March. Fingers crossed this will be able to go ahead! We will keep you all informed if we find out anything more. Miss Betts will do an information meeting on kit needed in the Spring term.
We have set up a Kahoot quiz to help practise this week's words. Click the link https://kahoot.it/ and enter the pin: 03929986
Have a lovely weekend! :)
