English

In English this week we have been learning all about poetry/rhyme. We  focused on the Nursery Rhyme Jack and Jill and put actions with the rhyme to help us to remember it.  Rhyming words are two or more words that have the same or similar ending sound. Some examples of rhyming words are: goat, boat, moat, float, coat.  We also changed some of the words from the poem and the children thoroughly enjoyed thinking about new rhyming words to go into the poem.

You can use the following website to share this poem/rhyme with your children at home and they can show you the actions to go with it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/eyfs-nursery-rhymes-songs-jack-and-jill/z4t3sk7
