Here’s what we’ll be covering this term in Year 2:

Maths

In Maths, we are going to be focusing on learning a variety of skills such as place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and time. We are going to be encouraging the children to deepen their knowledge of number bonds. You can also encourage them with this at home using the Numbots website.

Topics that we will be covering across the term

In the foundation subjects we will be learning about:

Art – Abstract portraits
Science – Every day materials
Geography – Continents and oceans
Computing – The internet
RE – God and faith – special books
PE – Multi-skills and hockey
PSHE – Being me in my world

PE

We have PE every Monday and Wednesday

Children are to come to school wearing their PE kits on PE days please.

Children will need trainers for all PE lessons. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing; this can be in the form of plain black tracksuit bottoms with elasticated legs, plain black or red shorts and a plain white or red t-shirt.

No jewellery is to be worn on PE days.

Please ensure your child brings their book bag each day with their reading book and library book inside. Your child should also bring their school water bottle and coat to school with them every day.
