March Newsletter 2018

Spring is finally in the air and the Easter break is fast approaching. February saw everyone take part in the successful ‘Mental Health’ week and help raise some much needed awareness on how important it is to be mentally healthy. Reception enjoyed a delicious Chinese lunch to celebrate the ‘Year of the Dog’ and Year 4 explored if animals should be kept in cages at Whipsnade Zoo. Although March appears quieter, we will continue to focus on punctuality, attendance, reading & practising our number cards.

This term has seen a flurry of activity already with the children taking part in several different events and workshops. Year 3 took part in an interactive Lego robotic workshop, the remainder of Year 5 visited Hazard Alley and Apple and Maroon classes held very successful coffee mornings in the family room. Learning has never been so much fun! September Newsletter

Welcome back or welcome if your child has just joined. I hope you all have had a good summer holiday. I would also like to welcome our new staff and wish them a successful and happy career at Surrey Street. Term has started very well, the children have settled in their new classes and the school has a lovely buzz about it. September is always an exciting and busy time and is an opportunity for us all to have a fresh start. You may have noticed our school has gone through some significant changes over the holidays. We have had an extension built and now have a brand new, parent-friendly reception and front entrance. Working in partnership with parents is extremely important for the successful education of your children so we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. Thank you.
