The new term is now well and truly under way and Magenta class have settled quickly into new routines and the expectations that year 6 brings.
Our weekly timetable includes PE on Mondays and Thursdays- so make sure your kit is in school with both plimsolls and trainers as we will go outside when we can, weather permitting. Our theme for the year is journeys- year 6 have many a mountain to climb before they reach the end of their Surrey Street journey and we hope to have plenty of adventures along the way. Watch out for more information on our Marauding Mondays- we will have one Monday a half term when we will take our learning, not just outside, but outside of the school grounds and go 'marauding' around our local area. Looking ahead to later in the term, many of the children will be going off to Kingswood- more details will follow on that journey.
Our first week was busy with the election of house captains. Congratulations go to Eisha, Ffion and Daniyal who are all representing their houses in this capacity and have made a great start to fulfilling their roles with their daily jobs. Keep up the good work!
We have begun our term by revisiting lots of number work in our numeracy lessons whilst in literacy we have been looking at and writing short stories- hopefully some of the children's stories will be so amazing that we can share them with you on our class web page.
Our first topic of the term has been mountains and we look forward to sharing some of what we have learnt in our class assembly on Friday 22nd September.
Hope to see you there.
