INFORMATION REGARDING SATS
Your children are peckish, some are starving. Me? My tummy's rumbling. And why? Are we malnourished? Has my wife not been feeding me properly? The answer is that we're all hungry for success – success in our SATs, which are only days away.
Our SATs begin on the 13th May. During that week, we will be running a breakfast club in order to warm up your children's minds up thoroughly. The breakfast club will start at 8am in the hall and be just for year 6.
This is going to be a high-pressured, intense couple of weeks. However, with hard work, it'll all be worth it in the end.
INFORMATION REGARDING SCHOOL REQUESTS DURING THE MUSLIM MONTH OF RAMADAN
The Muslim month of Ramadan is due to start in the next few weeks, potentially coinciding with the SATs exams, and as a school, we understand that some of our pupils may wish to observe fasting.
In Islam fasting does not become obligatory until puberty; however we recognise that in some instances children may choose to observe fasting during the month of Ramadan before this time and are considered sensible enough by their parents/carers to deal with the religious observance of fasting.
The school has a Health and Safety obligation towards all our children. If you decide to allow your child to fast, you will need to write to me to let me know. It is important that your child is well-hydrated and well-rested.
I trust that Ramadan is a good month for you and your family.
If your child is fasting during Ramadan at any point, please call and speak to the Family Workers or write it in a letter.
