Maths homework

Dear year 5 parents,

Starting this week, we will be giving the children compulsory homework for them to complete each week in addition to the optional learning logs that they may still choose to complete. This is because we want to give children the time to practise and embed what they have been taught in class and also to prepare them for the homework they will be receiving in year 6 and as they move through their school career.

The homework will be given to the children on Wednesday each week and must be completed by Monday the following week. Any child who does not bring their homework back and finished in on time will have to do it on Monday lunch time.

For this week only, as we weren't able to print the homework on Wednesday due to the internet being down at school, the homework was given on Thursday and will be due on Tuesday.

The homework sheets will be stuck in the children's learning logs. The activities given to the children will be based on work we have done at school and as a result they should be able to complete it independently. If children are struggling to complete it for any reason, they can come in on Thursday lunchtime to work with a teacher then.

Thank you for your anticipated support with this. Please call the office or speak to us at the end of the day if you have any concerns.
