Welcome to Hogwarts!

Wait. No.

I mean, welcome to year 4!

Mr White, Mrs Khan, Mrs Shah, Mrs Green and Mr Iszchak make up the year 4 team and have planned a great year for you.

In class this term, we will be reading Harry Potter as our class story and doing writing based on the book as part of our English lessons – including a trip to Harry Potter World. We will be focusing on number, place value, adding, subtracting and multiplication in numeracy; there will be regular number card testing so please help your children practise at home. It is also vital that you listen to your children read on a regular basis, at least once per week. I believe that good readers make good writers.

Being in year 4 is like making a magic potion:

  • Pour a litre of hard work into your cauldron
  • Add two table spoons of times tables testing and stir vigorously
  • Mix in a few brilliant trips and outdoor days
  • Throw in a heap of fun and sprinkle some fantastic staff for flavour
  • Hey, presto! You have a great year to enjoy

We hope that your child has an amazing year this year.
