Good morning Year 3!
We hope you all enjoyed yesterday's tasks.
In today's English lesson, you will be writing a recipe.
Today, we want you to share a recipe of something you like to eat or make. Think about the skills you will need when writing the instructions. We will share these recipes on the class display board on Purple Mash or if you send a photo, we will add it to the website. That way, other people in the year group can try your recipe too!
Online option: Using the 2do task that we have set on Purple Mash, write your recipe.
Here is your spelling lesson for today! Download the file to see the lesson slides.
In this lesson, you will recap what you know about shapes.
Activity 1 – Complete the '2D shape pairs game' and '3D shape pairs game' on Purple Mash. We have set these for you as 2do tasks.
Activity 2 – Comment on the year 3 blog to tell us what shape properties you remember about the different shapes.
Activity 3 – Have a go at the 'four triangles puzzle' nrich investigation using this link: https://nrich.maths.org/141
Activity 1 – Which 2D and 3D shapes do you remember? Draw pictures of them and label them.
Activity 2 – Write the properties of each shape you drew and labelled.
Activity 3 – Have a go at the 'four triangles puzzle' nrich investigation shown below. You need to download the file to see the investigation.
There is also a sheet below with triangles that you can cut out to use for the investigation or you can draw your own at home.
Today, you will be creating a poster based on the deeper meaning of festivals.
We would like you to create a poster to show what you have learnt about the deeper meanings of festivals this week. You can include pictures, facts and questions. You can design the poster how you like, as long as it shows what they have learnt about deeper meanings of festivals.
Online option: Create a poster on the 2do task that we have set on Purple Mash.
Alternative option: If you do not take part in RE lessons, you can create a poster showing how you share or celebrate good news. This could be something like having a meal with family or inviting people over. You can draw pictures and write a paragraph. You can share this on the Year 3 blog or send in a photo to
Hope you enjoy your tasks for today. Remember to try and follow the suggested daily timetable to keep your mind and body healthy. Have a good day!
