 Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break!
This term we will continue to follow the Primary Writing Project for Literacy. The children will learn, innovate and invent a variety of text types such as adventure stories, science fiction texts, leaflets and poems.
In numeracy we are going to be focusing on learning a variety of skills such as fractions, multiplication, addition and subtraction. We will continue to encourage the children to deepen their knowledge of number bonds. You can also encourage them with this at home using their number bond and multiplication cards!
In the foundation subjects we will be learning about:

Science – Plants & Seasons
Art – Planting & Sculptures
Computing – Simulations and Story Telling
PE – Tennis and Ball Skills
PSHE – Dreams and goals and Healthy Me
RE – Special Books and Judaism

P.E days will continue to be twice a week. Plimsolls will be required for indoor use and trainers for outdoor use. Children will do gymnastic lessons in bare feet. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing; this can be in the form of plain black tracksuit bottoms with elasticated legs, plain black or red shorts and a plain white or red t-shirt. No jewellery is to be worn.
Please ensure your child brings their reading record, reading book, number card, spelling card, water bottle and coat to school with them every day. If the weather is warm children will be allowed to leave their coats on their pegs but as you know the British weather is very unpredictable!
We look forward to this being a successful and enjoyable term.

Kind regards,

Mrs Morell, Mrs Khatun & Miss Hussain
