Welcome to Rouge Class!

Welcome to Surrey Street Class pages

Burgundy Horse Dear Parents of Rouge Class Burgundy Horse

Welcome back, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. I am pleased to say that all the children have come back to school with an enthusiastic approach. This year we will be continuing to plan interesting lessons for Literacy and Numeracy. Other topics include:

All Living Things in Science,

Mosaics in Art,

What does it mean to be Sikh in RE,

Swimming and Athletics in P.E

Relationships in PSHE

Coding in Computing

Pets and family members in French

Learning musical notation and the Glockenspiel in Music

P.E days will be every Monday (Athletics) and Tuesday (Swimming) so please ensure they have a full kit or swimming kit in school on the correct days. Trainers must be worn for outdoor use in games and plimsolls for indoor use. Please ensure they have appropriate clothing, this can be in the form of a tracksuit with elasticated bottoms, dark or red shorts and a white or red t-shirt. No jewellery is to be worn and No hoodies.

Learning Logs will be given out every Monday and taken in for marking on Friday. Reading is an important part of your child’s learning so please help with their reading every night and test them on their number cards too.

Please ensure the children bring their reading record, reading book, number card, water bottles and a coat to school with them every day.

Remember any money sent into school should be in an envelope with class and child’s name and can be posted in the post boxes outside Year 1 and KS2.

Throughout the year please feel free to have a quick word after school or if longer needed, make an appointment at a more convenient time.

We look forward to this being a successful and enjoyable term.

Miss Hussain and Mrs McKay
