Happy New Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We hope you all had an enjoyable break.

Here is a sneak peak at what we will be learning this half term.

Literacy: Poetry -" Isn't it funny how a bear likes honey" and Bear Hunt

Numeracy: Number recognition and counting, Shape, space and measure

PSHE: Goals and Dreams

Understanding the world: Topic : Around the World, including Chinese New Year.

PE: Ball Skills. This will be a Tuesday (Poppy Class), Wednesday (Tulip Class), Thursday (Rose Class) . PE KITS NEED TO BE IN SCHOOL EVERY DAY.

BIG NEWS - Welly Wednesday outdoor learning sessions will be starting soon, (see separate letters with dates for child's class.)

Please make sure you are reading with your children at home as often as you can.  Reading books and reading records need to stay in their book bag which should be in school every day.

As the weather is colder please make sure your child has a suitable coat, hat, scarf and gloves, all labelled with their name.

We have some exciting activities planned look out for letters in the next few weeks!  To help us with this we are looking for parents to come in and support us. Can you share a story or song in your home language or teach the children a simple traditional craft? Please talk to one of the Early Years staff if you are interested.

Many thanks

Mrs Staniforth, Miss Cavanagh, Mrs Allen and Mrs Patterson
