Welcome to 2019! Here is a copy of Butterfly Class' Letter for Spring 2019!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope you all had an enjoyable break.
Here is a sneaky peak at what we will be learning this term.
We will be basing our learning around two of our favourite books:
Walking Through The Jungle & The Very Busy Spider
Communication & Language – Learning animal names and talking about our favourite animals.
Physical Development – Moving like animals. Using a pencil with control when drawing.
Personal, Social and Emotional – Taking turns when playing animal games. Sharing toys.
Literacy – Listening to animal stories, playing rhyming games and matching letters to sounds.
Maths – Counting and sorting animals. Using shapes to make animal homes.
Understanding the World – Looking at how animals are the same/different. Where do they live?
Expressive Art & Design – Making pictures and models of animals. Animals songs and music.
When we start to learn a new story or rhyme, we will send it home with the children so that you can all learn it together as a family.
Muddy Monday – we will be continuing our Outdoor Learning Sessions every Monday, so please wrap your children up warm on those days and bring in their wellies.
As the weather is colder please make sure your child has a suitable coat, hat, scarf and gloves all labelled with their name.
We are going to be talking about our families and where we come from. To help us with this we are looking for parents to come in and support us. Can you share a favourite family story or song in your home language?
Please talk to one of the Early Years staff if you are interested.
Thanks for all your support!
