Butterfly Class Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Butterfly Class!  I am very excited to be writing this very first letter about our new Nursery Class!  Your children have settled in very well and are enjoying exploring all the activities that we have on offer.

We encourage all our children to take part in messy and outdoor play, so please can you provide a spare set of clothes and send them in a draw string bag.

They will need a coat every day, as the weather can change very quickly.

Please can you write their name on all your child's clothes, including their coat. This will help us return the right clothes to the right child!

On Mondays, we will be taking our learning outside as we launch:

Muddy   Mondays

We will be visiting the woods, the field and the gardens.  Please make sure that your child has warm clothes and welly boots in school.

This half-term we will be basing our learning on Nursery Rhymes and finding out more about Ourselves.

Communication and Language: Talking about our favourite songs, rhymes and stories

Physical: Climbing and balancing on outdoor equipment

Personal Social and Emotional: Sharing and taking turns in games

Literacy: Learning Nursery Rhymes - Incy Wincy Spider and There Was A Princess

Maths: Counting and sorting objects

Understanding the World: Hunting for insects

Expressive Arts & Design: Exploring colour and texture

On a Friday, the children will be able to borrow a book from our Library. They can keep the book for a week and then bring it back to swap it the following Friday.

Finally, please write on the star shape and tell us something special about your child (e.g. Ben is special because he…)

Thank you for your support!
